In this video Marc Whitehead, a Board Certified Disability Attorney, explains how self reported symptoms such as pain, fibermyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome aren’t diagnosed through test results and are instead diagnosed by a doctor based on examination and patient reports. Symptoms like this that are not diagnosed through test results are not considered to be “Objective Evidence.” Objective Evidence is considered to be diagnostic tests like MRI’s and X-rays.
Non-exertional limitations are also self reported by the claimant and are ignored by insurance companies.
