This year, Marc Whitehead & Associates had the pleasure of inviting undergraduate students to apply for two special scholarships: the Flora Marie Jenkins Memorial Disability Scholarship and the Frances & Earl Perry Memorial Veterans Scholarship. Today, we are thrilled to introduce the deserving recipient of the Frances & Earl Perry Memorial Veterans Scholarship.
Gabrielle “Bella” Villarin stood out to us with her remarkable story and achievements. As she embarks on her college journey, we are honored to support her with a $5,000 scholarship from our team at Marc Whitehead & Associates.
Gabrielle “Bella” Villarin’s Story
Bella’s story is deeply rooted in the legacy of her father and grandfather, both of whom served in the United States military.
In her essay, Bella honored her grandfather, who faced limitations in his military career due to the policies that restricted Filipino enlistees from advancing. She also celebrated her father’s achievements, particularly his rise to the rank of Commander, breaking through barriers along the way.
Bella’s own journey has been one of breaking barriers and giving back. Growing up in a military family, she lived in Virginia, San Diego, Japan, and Singapore. Throughout her high school years, she wrote over 300 articles for The Colorado Times.
As President of the Days for Girls Club, she helped pack menstrual kits for those in need in developing countries, showing her commitment to service and leadership.

Looking Ahead: Bella’s Ambitions
Bella’s dedication to her community and her passion for making a difference have earned her numerous accolades, including the 2023 Coronado Distinguished Citizen Award, the Woman Impact of the Year Award, and the Young Leader Award.
She also represented San Diego in the 2023 PURE Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach, showcasing her love for golf and mentorship.
As Bella begins her studies at Georgetown University, she plans to continue her advocacy work, focusing on journalism, ethics, and international business. We have no doubt that she will continue to make a positive impact on the world, and we are honored to support her on this journey.
Congratulations, Bella!
At Marc Whitehead & Associates, we are deeply inspired by Bella’s journey. Her strength, perseverance, and achievements in the face of adversity are truly remarkable. We are proud to support her as she continues her education and pursues her dreams.
