This year, Marc Whitehead & Associates had the pleasure of inviting undergraduate students to apply for two special scholarships: the Flora Marie Jenkins Memorial Disability Scholarship and the Frances & Earl Perry Memorial Veterans Scholarship.
Today, we are thrilled to introduce the deserving recipient of the Flora Marie Jenkins Memorial Disability Scholarship, Abigail Poulin. Abigail stood out to us with her remarkable story and achievements. As she embarks on her college journey, we are honored to support her with a $5,000 scholarship from our team at Marc Whitehead & Associates.
Abigail Poulin’s Journey
When we read Abigail Poulin’s scholarship essay, it was clear that she’s an extraordinary young woman. Abigail is a Chinese-American adoptee who lives with cerebral palsy, a condition that affects her posture, movement, and fine motor skills. Despite these challenges, Abigail has shown incredible resilience and determination.
In her essay, Abigail shared how she and her parents worked tirelessly to improve her mobility, allowing her to excel academically and surpass expectations. Even after the tragic loss of her mother to addiction and pancreatic cancer, Abigail persevered, earning both her high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree.
Beyond her academic success, she has also made a lasting impact as a volunteer, a receptionist at Delray Medical Center, and a devoted daughter.

Looking Ahead: Abigail’s Ambitions
Abigail’s story is one of overcoming obstacles and achieving greatness. As she begins her freshman year at the University of South Florida, she plans to use her $5,000 scholarship to pursue a degree in Biomedical Sciences. Abigail is eager to dive into undergraduate research, internships, and all the opportunities college has to offer.
Her long-term goal is to further her studies in a pharmaceutical graduate program, where she hopes to make a difference in biomedical research. Abigail is passionate about improving access to medicine and raising awareness about cerebral palsy. We are excited to see what she accomplishes next.
Congratulations, Abigail!
At March Whitehead & Associates, we are deeply inspired by Abigail’s journey. Her strength, perseverance, and achievements in the face of adversity are truly remarkable. We are proud to support her as she continues her education and pursues her dream.
